Dingomaster, the crappy city council just got the crap kicked out of it by the people who are tired of the lying and BS. This is potentially a great city that has gone through a couple of decades of corrupt leadership and chroneyism.

I love that $1.5 Billion dollar bill!!!
LOLOL
The people who run Corpus are so full of it. They should give every man, woman and child in that town a shovel to dig through the bullsh*t.

" The median price of a new home plunged in September by the largest amount in more than 35 years...."
Padre island real estate may be getting affordable again very soon! The punitive taxation and wild real estate speculation on Padre island has created a bubble which is bursting. Patience is the key here in aquiring an ocean front dream home. Make 'em sweat.

You surf bumbs and pickup truck-drivin-on-the-beach idiots just don't get it...
We own this Island and your city Council!
I moved here from Florida to sell Padre Island. I make more off property with limited beach access and I have paid for the right to sell the Isalnd. If you want a refund on your taxes, see Skip Noe!
Keep the drunk-drivin bumbs from San Antonio off my the beach so I can cash in and get the hell out of here.

This whole town totally sucks! EVERY good idea is shot down and pockets get filled becouse of it, Its been like that since i've lived here.Just like the valley it will only get worse, and you all really know why! Dont try and blame it on something or someone else!Open your eyes and look around you. Why are other cities north of here booming and growing? The biggest project here is putting the stupid billion doller hotel on the island!
Which will only add maid jobs here,But the rich will get richer and we will be here with a closed beach and our thumbs up our a$$es! All crowded together on the sand! Thats gona be real nice! And you can bet that even if we vote NO it is gona happen! After 10 years, the first out of town job that comes up, were outa here! I know i'am not the only one looking either!Lets see how much tax they can get when no one is here anymore!$7.00 per hour jobs and crime is only scratching the surfice of cctx. problems.

In Corpus Christi BIG truck/SUV = Small Penis.
Nobody wants a bunch of people with tiny peckers on our beaches.

But, more than that, dislike pick up trucks driving on the beach. How 'natual' is that??? Can't fat ars Texans go anywhere without their F350's? What is so great about spoiling a beautiful beach with a pick 'em up truck? As for the handicapped- I've never seen one on the beach, plus the fact that they will build handicapped access bathrooms, sidewalks, etc. which they DO need. If you're so against private enterprise, move a few miles south, and live in socialist Mexico. You can do anything there you want, cause nobody gives a rip.

John, the tax money has already been distributed. The public needs to shut up now.
Name or Handle: John From Houston Date: - May 6, 2006
If I read this correctly, the people who are promoting this project have solicited tax money for it, but are now trying to limit public input?
Is that right?

The people pushing this don't need the internet or votes. They get what they want.

Why is there nothing online that seems to be in favor of this beach closing, real estate deal, development, whatever it is supposed to be?
Name or Handle: Forward CC Guy Date: - April 15, 2006
Relax Karen... They are not trying to stop people from voting. They are trying to stop a petition that would put a public matter on a ballot. If you were pushing a project that might not pass the electorate, you would do the same thing.

I was just reading about this int he Corpus online paper. Is there a group trying to prevent United States citizens from voting? Do they speak with German accents?
This sounds sick.

I'm just wondering does anyone know who originally proposed the idea for Packery Channel??
And does anyone know the maximum size of boats that can use the channel?
Thanks!
Name or Handle: Matt Date: - February 1, 2006
This fellow works for the city of Corpus Christi, and might know where to direct you for rules, or somebody who knows something about the channel, etc.

While I am still undecided on how I feel about the Channel, I find myself in a strange position. I need to use the channel "NOW" for some small boat work offshore. Has anybody out there been through it lately? Am I going to get arrested if I try?

Preferable to fake palms, I like selling real estate by pointing out erections last 33% longer on Packery Channel.
Name or Handle: coastin Date: - January 24, 2006
I just visited the “Palm Fraud” link and I must confess that I did use fraudulent palms on packery.com to drive home this very point. After all the site title is "Hyping Packery Channel for Fun and Profit".
You gotta cut the local real estate speculators some slack on this issue or they will not be able to flip their land for higher profits to unsuspecting out-of-towners, perhaps Canadians. wink...

Is this Padre Island development the product of a charette?
Name or Handle: Curt Date: - January 22, 2006
Can you say boat wreck? Some day I am afraid some boat owner will. If your boat hits ground in the channel somebody will get hurt!
Name or Handle: Monique Date: - January 20, 2006
The surf on the sand bar in that channel looks nice. Good photos.

Don't worry about overdevelopment on Padre Island. Mother nature can "undevelop" these places in a hurry.
Name or Handle: Ben Dover Date: - January 15, 2006
Why is everybody concerned about the city curtailing driving on the beach? For the last few years, the Corpus Christi hasn't let anybody drive on the bayfront either.
Name or Handle: Gulf Coaster Date: - January 15, 2006
I was at Packery Channel last week. There is no bulkheading on the Bay side. There are waves breaking between the jetties, and boats coming and going though it. Does anybody know what is going on out there? I think the least of the issues here is some potential resort.
