Satire

It has come to our attention that some readers are taking X-Ray Vision 2000 literally. We have decided as part of the Corpus Christi Ezine Continuing Education Forum to educate and enlighten our web surfing readers on the subject of satire.

Satire
1. Orig., in the history of Roman literature, a rambling composition in verse devoted to censure of some prevailing vice or folly; as, the Satires of Juvenal.
2. A literary composition holding up human or individual vices or folly, or abuses or shortcomings of any kind, to reprobation by means of ridicule, derision, burlesque, or other method of intensifying incongruities, usually with an intent to provoke amendment.
3. The branch of literature ridiculing vice or folly.
4. The use of trenchant wit, irony, or sarcasm, for the purposes of exposing and discrediting vice or folly.

We apologize for any misunderstandings caused by our failure to previously designate our work as satire.
